History of Owego Kiwanis
old car

Kiwanis International was founded in the Motor City of Detroit, Michigan in 1915 by a group of businessmen. In the early years members focused on business networking. In 1919 the organization redesigned itself to a service approach, specifically service to children.

The Owego Club was established in 1925 with William Miller as the first president. Today we remain dedicated to that 1919 service approach. Membership in the Kiwanis Club provides opportunities for leadership, lifelong friendships, participation in service projects and of course fun along the way.
